Stretch and Flex – this class meets on Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings at 8:00 a.m. This is a very friendly group and you will immediately make friends. You will follow an audio tape to go through the workout but you only need to do what you are capable of doing. Many can only do small movements, but enjoy the fellowship. This class is free.
Fit After Fifty – this class meets on Tuesday and Thursday mornings at 8:30 a.m. This class is free and is taught by licensed Fit After Fifty teachers sponsored by the Office on Aging. The exercises are geared toward balance, stretching and elastic ropes are used for resistance and strengthening. Each class member is provided an elastic rope.
Tai Chi - this class meets on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons and is provided by the Riverside Community College (RCC) Young At Heart Program. The class is free. You must register each semester and can do that through the RCC office or the office at the Eddie Dee Smith Senior Center.
Chair Massage – a licensed masseuse comes every Tuesday and is available for chair massage. She provides services for a donation and we suggest at least $5 for a twenty minute session. You do not have to remove your clothing and do not have to lay on a table. Reservations are recommended but walk-ins may be serviced also.
Line Dancing – this group meets on Tuesdays. There is no formal teacher but those that enjoy line dancing come together to not only shake it up but share techniques. This is a great social exercise and a lot of fun. There is no charge for this class.
Wellness Class – this class meets on Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. Each week is a different subject and covers healthy eating, diabetes prevention, heart health, etc. This class is free. The teacher is a retired nurse and is very knowledgeable. Guest speakers occasionally are invited.
Blood Pressure Check – the first Wednesday of each month our Wellness teacher does free blood pressure checks. The times are 10:00 to 12:00. No appointment is necessary.
